INTERNET POLICY

DEFINITION

Companies and organizations implement internet policies to protect their networks from a variety of internet-borne threats, to prevent security breaches, and to manage employee internet access. Internet policies may include security measures, bandwidth management, web filtering, and the monitoring of employee web activity. Internet policies for employees’ internet usage may limit access to certain types of websites, block inappropriate websites, and limit applications such as peer-to-peer (P2P) file sharing.
